About the Artist
Carol Miraben is a mixed-media abstract paint and textile artist who continually evolves and pushes her creative boundaries.
Carol’s work grabs viewers’ attention from afar and compels them to take a closer look. She works in an improvisational way and is inspired by her processes, materials, color and form rather than by a specific idea. Her Ephemera series was painted entirely with her hands. She embraces the freedom to fail that many years of making art have given her.
Following a conventional business career, Carol leaped to a full-time career of art-making. She was inspired by abstract expressionism and enhanced her self-teaching with studio classes. Carol has worked with watercolor, acrylic, encaustic, collage and fabric in both realistic and abstract ways. She is a frequent exhibitor and award-winner and has been featured by galleries in California, Arizona and New Mexico. Carol lives and works in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
